Getting Started MacOS

Welcome! This is a quick introduction that will walk you through getting started on your MacOS computer.
Your account information:
Your username to log into most Microsoft 365 services is the same as your email address. It is generally your first name.last name (Example: Larry Davis would be larry.davis@pomona-farming.com or larry.davis@mahipono.com ). Your password should have already been issued to you but if you have not received it, you can contact the Help Desk by emailing request@cobaltix.com.
Setting up your computer:
Power on your computer and go through the steps as instructed. You should first see the language selection screen for MacOS.

Next, the Accessibility screen and then the prompt to connect to your WiFi network….

Once you connect to your WiFi network, you should then see the Remote Management screen, informing you that your computer will be controlled and administered remotely by either Pomona Farming LLC or Mahi Pono LLC. Click Enroll to proceed with the setup.

You will be prompted to login with your Microsoft 365 credentials.

The enrollment process will complete after you have logged in. Next, you will be prompted to create a password for the local computer account.

After creation of the local computer account, enable Location Services and choose your time zone.

Then the computer will enable hard drive encryption (FileVault). The recovery key is stored on our management server but you can also take a picture of this screen if you wish. Then click Continue.

You will now be at the desktop. From here your applications will start to download. These next steps are for registering your computer and logging into your Microsoft applications. Please make sure you complete each of these steps so that your access to resources isn’t blocked or restricted.
REGISTERING YOUR COMPUTER: At the desktop, you will see a notification at the upper right hand of the screen to register your computer. Click it to start the registration process.

At the Platform SSO screen, click Continue.

At the next prompt, use Touch ID or your computer password to continue.

Log in with your Microsoft credentials.

From here your computer will register and you should see the screen below.
The last step in registering your computer is that you will need to enable the Company Portal app as a passkey provider. Follow the steps as shown (This will require opening System Settings, Passwords)


After this step, your registration is complete.

SIGNING INTO ONEDRIVE/OUTLOOK/TEAMS/EDGE: PLEASE ENSURE YOU LOG INTO YOUR MICROSOFT APPLICATIONS FOR THE BEST USER EXPERIENCE.
The easiest way to find your applications is to open Launchpad on the Dock, circled below. You may need to swipe to the 2nd page to see them.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To ensure your computer files are backed up automatically, you will need to open OneDrive and log in as shown below. Start by opening OneDrive from Applications or Launchpad (You may need to open it twice).



Click on OneDrive and follow the prompts to log in and create your OneDrive.


Make sure you give MacOS permissions for OneDrive.


You can then repeat the process for Outlook, Teams, Edge, etc.
